Regular class attendance and participation are essential for success in each course.  Students are expected to attend class, be on time, and be prepared to discuss assigned material.  It is college policy that if a student in any course misses 15% of the class sessions for any reason, she or he may be withdrawn from the course.  If a student does have to miss a class, it is the responsibility of that student to make arrangements to get missed class notes from a classmate.  All exams are to be taken at the time and date specified.  Late exams will not be given unless the student has a serious, documented illness or other serious situation beyond the student's control.  Should a student miss an exam, it is the responsibility of the student to IMMEDIATELY contact me to explain the absence and possibly make arrangements for a make-up exam.  Missing an exam without prior authorization from the instructor may disqualify a student from taking a make-up exam and will result in 10 points being deducted from the student's exam score in the event a make-up exam is allowed.
