General Hints

Do's

Don'ts

1. Complete readings before lecture.
Relate information from readings to clinical
    situations.
1. Put off readings until before exams.
Study from lecture handouts only -  information
from your readings will appear on exams.
2. A day or two after each lecture briefly review
your notes and readings then spend some quiet
time (maybe while out for a walk) thinking
about the material and how it applies to your
    experiences.
2. Put each topic on the back burner until the
exam or comprehensive exam.  This will make
    studying for exams overwhelming.
3. Keep an ongoing list of important information,
questions and clinical application notes in your
notebook to check through as you near the
    comprehensive exam.
3. Assume that you will remember important
    information.
4. See me if you think you need any help as soon
    as possible.
4. Put off asking questions until the last week of
    classes.

About  Exams

future role as a RN.  The comprehensive exam will help you to tie all material
from lecture, seminar and clinical together.

Format: Unit exams = 50 multiple choice questions; Comprehensive = 100 questions

Level of Difficulty: Difficult to easy depending on how prepared you are.  If you follow
the general hints above, you will find these exams moderate to easy.

Question Content:The majority of questions will be framed within some clinical
application.  There will be limited questions to reinforce you
                                    knowledge of psychiatric terminology.
