If
I am your academic advisor, we'll be working together to ensure the successful completion
of your CCC degree and/or a smooth transfer to a four-year institution.
As your advisor, I will do my best to advise you regarding your academic
progress, but you have some responsibilities, as well. Therefore, you
should
- use your curriculum and graduation worksheets (available on line)
and keep track of the courses you've taken, the grades you've received in
them, and the courses you still need to take,
- schedule
an appointment time to meet with me in advance of the first day of
registration periods (see the college calendar for registration dates), so
you'll be ready to register early and don't get closed out of the classes
you need at the times you want to take them,
- bring
a registration card and a tentative schedule to the appointment (check the
online schedule to see when the courses you need are offered and put
together a schedule that works for you),
- be
familiar with your financial-aid status and the guidelines regarding the
impact of dropping classes or scheduling courses beyond those required for
your CCC degree, and
- see
me whenever you have questions, concerns, or need assistance. I
can't always solve all of your problems, but I can usually direct you to a
person or place that will provide assistance. I also like to hear
about your successes, so stop by occasionally and let me know how you are
doing!
