Personal Protective Equipment
| Aprons - will be provided to any students
wishing to use them. They are impervious to liquids but do not cover
the arms and shoulders.
Lab Coats - are provided to Faculty. Students may provide their own. The one pictured is a Heavy Duty coat for working with possible flame hazards. |

| Non-Latex Gloves - Pick gloves that are the right size and type (see APP.
IV) We no longer use latex gloves anywhere in the labs due to latex allergy issues. NITRILE gloves are available upon request. |

| Full Face Protection - the shield on the
left is for splashes and other lower velocity particles ( not suitable for
grinding etc.) - the shield on the right is for heat, sparks and
flying objects. BOTH are available upon request. |

| Splash Shield - ideal for work with microbes, this protects all routes of entry. | ![]() |

| Safety Glasses - protect eyes from object moving straight on at the eyes only, but these are the least likely to fog. | ![]() |

| Impact Goggles - these also protect the eyes from particles moving in most all directions. These have adequate ventilation but can fog in certain conditions. | ![]() |

| Splash-Proof Goggles - these are the best protection for working with hazardous chemicals as they will protect the eyes from larger spills and splashes. | ![]() |

| Glass Tubing Tools - these tools allow you to handle, push, cut and insert glass rod and tubing. | ![]() |

| Hot/Cold Mitts - protect hands from from burns and frostbite. | ![]() |

| Respirators - not available to everyone. Any hazardous procedure that cannot be performed within a Fume Hood should be discussed with the Lab Coord. and College Nurse etc. | ||
